Rules & Regulations of Rambagan Children Academy

Attendance / Leave / Absence at The School

  1.  Each day is a new learning experience. Children must come to school regularly and punctually. If a child comes late, the day starts off on a disturbed note.
  2.  Students reporting late for the third time in a month will be marked absent. The students not conforming to this will be directed to the students’ Resource Room. Here under the supervision of a teacher, they will carry out academic enrichment work as given by their subject teachers.
  3.  Absenting oneself from a lesson or leaving the school without the permission of the authorities is a serious offence. It should be avoided at all times. Students in uniform are not expected to visit any other places during school timings.
  4.  Mass absenteeism before any examination must be avoided. If a student is unable to produce a valid medical certificate for being absent on such an occasion, he/she will not be allowed to write the examination at the stipulated time.
  5.  Every pupil must attend the school regularly. Absence from school for reason other than illness or serious unforeseen circum-stance will not be excused.
  6.  A student who has been absent on the previous day will not be permitted to attend the class without the permission of the class Teacher.
  7.  A student suffering from any kind of communicable disease should not be sent to school.
  8.  Students suffering from the following diseases must observe the specified period of quarantine before returning to class :
    • a) Chicken Pox – Till complete falling of the scabs.
    • b) Cholera - Till the child is completely well.
    • c) Measles – Two weeks after the rash disappears.
    • d) Mumps – Until the swelling has gone.
    • e) Whooping Cough – Six weeks.
  9.  A student who has recovered from any contagious disease should produce a doctor’s certificate of fitness to resume the classes. Leave may be granted by the Principal on a written application from the parent.
  10.  Students are required to make up the work missed during the period of their absence.
  11.  Re-Examinations / Re – Tests will not be held for the students who remain absent in any of the Examinations or Tests.
  12.  75% attendance is compulsory for the students from classes NUR TO VII . Admit Card and Promotion are liable to be refused if they fail to meet this criteria. Students having 100% attendance will receive Merit Certificates.
  13.  Names of students who are absent for six consecutive days, without written a leave application, will be struck off from the school rolls. Re-admission will only be at the discretion of the principal.
  14.  Students must bring the books required daily. They must bring tiffin from home. After a student enters the school, the staff at the gate will not accept books, stationery or tiffin to be handed over to any student.
  15.  Parents are requested to refer to their wards’ almanac regularly and absence record of the ward should be maintained properly in the almanac.
  16.  If a students is absent for any test she/he will be awarded zero in that test. If a student is absent on the day of the test due to medical reasons, a written application supported by a medical certificate must be submitted on the same day.
  17.  Please do not send your ward to school if he/she is not well. Students will not be allowed to attend school or write any examination/ test during illness.

School Bag & Prohibited Items:

  1.  While every effort is made to reduce the weight of the school bag, the parents and the students are expected to actively cooperate with the school in achieving this goal. The students are expected to bring only the books required for the day as per the time table.
  2.  Bringing CDs, video cassettes, mobiles, I-Pods, adult magazines, cameras, walkmans, disc man, MP3 players, crackers etc. to school is strictly prohibited.
  3.  No posters, fixtures and stickers are permitted in the school.
  4.  Use of Mobile Phone is strictly banned within the premises. School phones are available for communication when there is a genuine need.
  5.  If any student is found using a Mobile Phone, it will be confiscated and not returned to the owner.
  6.  Buying sweets, ice creams etc. from street hawkers is not allowed.
  7.  Bringing chewing gum or bubble gum to school is not permitted.
  8.  Bringing or using any tobacco product or illegal substance is strictly prohibited.
  9.  Only fruits , vegetables , sprouts and nuts are allowed for snacks. The school does not provide any eatables.
  10.  Junk foods , bottle juices , bakery products and oily items should be avoided.
  11.  The lunch kit must comprise of a tiffin box containing healthy food items, one handkerchief, spoon and enough water for your child.
  12.  Lunch should be accompanied with green vegetables daily. Kindly send the right quantity of snacks and lunch for your child. Avoid sending food in very costly containers. The school shall not be responsible for loss of such items.
  13.  We do not accept any item/tiffin sent during working hours due to security reasons and also to inculcate a sense of responsibility in the students. Please ensure that your child carries his/her when he/ she leaves for school in the morning.
  14.  Students must not bring any fancy items (like fancy pencils, erasers, pens or pencil boxes) or expensive items like watches, jewellery etc. These things distract not just the child who brings them but also his / her classmates. Those , if brought will be confiscated and not returned to the students. The school will not be held responsible for the loss of any such articles.
  15.  Do label your child’s name in all his/her belongings.

Behavior:

  1.  Bullying is strictly prohibited inside the school premises.
  2.  Use of foul or abusive language is strictly prohibited.
  3.  A student declared as a second time offence defaulter in any manner/given a warning for any breach of discipline will not be allowed to participate in any sports/games or take part in inter/intra school matches/will not be allowed to take part in any co-curricular activities.
  4.  Running, playing or shouting inside the classrooms, corridors and school premises are not allowed.
  5.  A student should abide by the commands of the class monitor. School will not interfere in any given situation where a student has indulged himself in a serious delinquency act outside school premises.
  6.  Parents and the school authorities play important roles in help-ing a child develop a habit of studying and working on his/her own. However, if the child needs special attention, parents are requested to meet the Principal regarding this. No teacher or a member of his/her family is permitted to take tuitions without the permission of the School Management.
  7.  No collection of money for any reason will be permitted in school without the permission of the Principal.

Care of School Property:

  1.  Students are to realize that school and its property belong to them and are provided for their comfortable stay.
  2.  They are not permitted to scribble on their desks’ tops, on the back rest of chairs, walls of the classrooms, toilets, corridors, boundary walls, etc.
  3.  Students are expected to take care of the bathroom fittings, class-room fittings, notice boards etc.
  4.  No student is permitted to tamper with school property. Students shall bear the cost of any school property damaged by them.
  5.  Students should respect the school property and report immediately regarding any damage to the school authority.

Library Rules:

  1.  Absolute silence and discipline must be maintained in the Library.
  2.  The cost of any damage/loss of books will be borne by parents/guardians of the students.
  3.  Books must be returned or renewed in time. A fine of rupees 5 per day is imposed, if books are not returned in time from the date of issue.
  4.  All articles and personal belongings must be left outside when entering the Library.
  5.  Only a copy-book and library book, if to be returned, may be taken into the Library.
  6.  Students must not bring their school bags, water bottles etc. inside the Library. These will be kept out of Library.
  7.  Normally books are issued for seven days and students can retain the books for not more than 14 days in any case for once.
  8.  Books lost must be informed to the Librarian immediately. Either the borrower has to replace the book or will have to pay twice the printed price of the book available in the market.
  9.  The borrower must examine the physical condition of the book at the time of issue. If he or she finds any damage he/she should bring it to the notice of the Librarian immediately before leaving the Library. Otherwise the borrower will be held responsible for the noticed damage.
  10.  In case of wilful damage to Library property heavy fines will be imposed on the students to prevent such cases.
  11.  Extreme mis-conduct in the Library may result in expulsion/suspension from school, for a specified period as decided by the school authorities.
  12.  Students are asked to take prior permission from the Librarian for availing facility at unscheduled time.
  13.  Books exclusively for consultation are not to taken out of the Library. They remain available to all students all the time.
  14.  All magazines, reference book or books used must be put back in the proper place after reading.
  15.  No fine will be charged for books overdue if a letter can be produced showing that the borrower has been absent for valid reasons.
  16.  No books may be retained during summer vacation.

Science Lab Rules:

  1.  The laboratory can be a very exciting place to work but it can also be very dangerous if the safety rules are not obeyed.
  2.  Never enter a laboratory unless given permission by your teacher.
  3.  Do not bring bags into the laboratory.
  4.  Do not run or push.
  5.  Never have food or drink in a laboratory. Do not taste or lick chemicals from the laboratory glassware. Do not drink from laboratory glassware or taps.
  6.  Wash your hands after using chemicals or biological materials.
  7.  Tell your teacher if you cut or burn yourself.
  8.  If you spill any chemicals or break some glassware, report it to your teacher who will tell you how to clean it up.
  9.  When heating or mixing substances, never look inside the flask, test tube or beaker. Do not point these experiments at anyone.
  10.  Do not open cupboards or examine specimens or experiments left in the laboratory unless given permission by your teacher.
  11.  Long hair should be tied back.
  12.  Be careful while using a Bunsen burner especially when you are wearing flammable clothing.
  13.  Be aware of the evacuation procedure for the laboratory.
  14.  Follow the instructions of the teacher.
  15.  Students may not start an experiment until given permission by the instructor.
  16.  Every student will clean up his/her work area before leaving. All glassware should be rinsed after use and test tubes placed upside down in the racks provided. Put rubbish in the bins and not in the sink.
  17.  No student will write on or deface any lab desks or any equipment provided to them during the experiment. They will use all equipment only for the purpose intended.

Computer Lab Rules:

If a student damages lab equipment intentionally or unintentionally, he / she is responsible for replacing it. This includes CDs, computers, monitors, apparatus and other hardware. If a staff member decides that a student has violated any rule then the student’s computer privileges may be taken away for a period of time. This means the student may come to the lab during scheduled times, and may observe the activities, but may not participate in them.

  1. DO NOT touch the Monitor.
  2. DO NOT bang on the keyboard or the mouse.
  3. DO NOT pull the cables attached to the computers.
  4. DO NOT put the headphone cables in your mouth.
  5. DO NOT un-plug any cable connected to the back of a computer, keyboard, mouse or network. If you have a problem, ask the teacher for help.
  6. DO NOT attempt to repair anything.
  7. DO NOT use inappropriate language or graphics on your computer.
  8.  Regarding the folders and files of other students, DO NOT open, move, delete or change their file names.
